Tropical life, warm water, tasty food, amazing culture… do not think twice. But if you still have doubts let me give you 7 reasons to visit this beautiful area in Sri Lanka.

This island is still green today and extremely fertile, for the most part wild, with an overwhelming biodiversity. It is divided in two halves by monsoon patterns from east to west: it hits the south of the island from April to September, and the northeast from November to March.

Here are some more reasons to explore this stunning island in Asia, get your passport and luggage ready after your read this:

1. An Emerging Destiny Not Overcrowded By Tourism.

After the end of the war in the north of the island, Sri Lanka took off as a tourist destination in 2010. This is a place with no mass tourism, where it is still possible to make a safari tour without jeep traffic jams, where you can explore immense virtually empty natural spaces and endless beaches not yet exploited.

2. Friendly Locals Who Will Welcome You Everywhere.

All smiles in the land of tea, they will say “Ayubowan” and will make you feel part of their family as soon as you arrive to their restaurants, hostels, or hotels.

3. Variety Of Beaches And Ecosystems.

From secluded beaches surrounded by palm trees to huge tropical rainforests. There is also 8 Unesco world heritage sites.

4. The Island Of Tea.

Tea Tourism has already taken off in Sri Lanka and has become an important reason to visit. When Thomas Lipton decided to buy abandoned land in the centre and dedicate the land to the cultivation of tea, he discovered that Ceylon had the perfect conditions for this star product of the British colonial era.

5. Warm Turquoise Water.

Warm water and white sand surrounded by palm trees, is this paradise? Yes! It is just a dreamy destination. Have a look at Sion in Midigama.

6. Tasty Gastronomy.

Nourished by local, Asian and European influences, the typical food reveals a new universe of lush flavours.

7. Perfect To Learn Surfing.

Especially for beginners and intermediates, there are a few reasons why: there is a variety of waves to choose from, easy access and tropical warm waters.
