South East Asia is one of the most captivating and amusing areas of the world. It is vast, it is encompassing, and it is quite addictive. While ten countries make up Southeast Asia, it seems that visiting Thailand is most people’s first stop and while it is a fantastic place, what about the rest of South East Asia?

Cambodia

Cambodia is a popular destination mainly for people wanting to visit the temples of Angkor Wat – a remarkable attraction. You can visit the temples for one or two days, and it’s not just a single temple, but a vast area with many ancient temples and ruins. The town, Siem Reap is very busy with tourists and many Western restaurants.

Laos

Laos is surrounded by bustling Southeast Asian countries like Vietnam and Thailand and is a quiet oasis in the middle of booming industrialisation. If you want scenic outdoors, hiking and of course relaxing in a hammock, Laos is a country you’ll surely enjoy!

Vietnam

Vietnam has so much to offer, and the north is very different from the south, The city of Hanoi is highly recommended, and one of the most famous attractions in Vietnam is Halong Bay. Then don’t forget the legendary Ho Chi Minh or Saigon as many know it.

Myanmar (Burma)

Things are changing rapidly in Burma, but if you look around and slow down, you’ll find a fantastic amount of beauty and entertainment in the city of Yangon just walking around, eating, and chatting with amiable locals.

Singapore

Singapore is very different from the other countries as you’ll enjoy walking around, enjoying the clean streets and eating delicious Singaporean cuisine.

Malaysia

There are main sections of land that form the country of Malaysia: the main section connected to Thailand, and a part of the large island of Borneo. Both sides of the county boast fascinating international culture and truly magnificent Malayasian gastronomy.

Indonesia

With more than 19,000 islands that make up the country, it would take years and years to say you’ve travelled through all of Indonesia! The island of Bali is hugely famous, but you should explore some other parts of the country as well such as the Peaceful Shores of Lak Toba a place so relaxing and beautiful you could spend years admiring the beauty at Lake Toba or if you are interested in wildlife, you’ll be happy to see the orangutans in Sumatra. Then there is Java, one of the most populous islands of Indonesia and home to the largest cities and a fascinating mixture of cultures.

Philippines

One country that is often overlooked by many people in the Philippines. Sad because it is one of the most beautiful countries in Southeast Asia. Luzon is the biggest and most populous island in the Philippines, home to the city of Manila as well as a lot of amazing attractions. You should also make sure you visit Banaue and Batad Rice Terraces in the central northern part of the island of Luzon where there are some of the most incredible rice terraces. With many new developments coming to the country read the New Nordic Group review as it has announced the launch an exciting project in Angeles City in the Philippines which will boast a medieval style throughout its five-star appointed one and two-bedroom suites. It will also include in-room ozonated dipping pools and water balconies plus a rooftop pool bar overlooking Mt. Pinatubo.
