Italy is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful countries in the world. It has a certain look and feel that it’s hard to describe unless you’ve been there and experienced it for yourself, and you certainly should make the effort to explore Italy at least once in your life.
When you do take the time to visit Italy, there are some things that you are certainly going to want to do while you’re there:
Tour Rome in a Fiat 500
Rome is an amazing city home to stunning sights like the Colosseum, St Peter's Basilica and Aventine Hill’s Orange Garden. What better way to see them all than on a road trip tour in a cool Fiat 500 that will make you feel just like you’re in one of those stylish old Italian films from the 50s and 60s? Nothing, that’s what!
Do Something Romantic
They say that Paris is the city of Romance, but the same thing could so easily be said of several cities in Italy, including Venice and Rome. Whether it’s taking a gondola ride with a photographer in Venice Italy so that you can pop the question to the one you love or drinking champagne on the Spanish Steps in Rome at Sunset to celebrate an anniversary, if you don’t do something romantic while you’re in Italy, you will be missing out.
Climb Mount Etna
Who wouldn’t want to be able to say they’ve climbed a volcano? Well, it just so happens that Italy has the perfect one to visit in the form of Mount Etna. There are numerous tours of Sicily and the volcanic islands of Aeolian which will allow you to climb the famous volcano, along with two others that are located nearby. You’ll see smoking craters, flowing lava and maybe even the odd eruption, all from a safe location, giving you the experience of a lifetime.
Eat Pizza in Naples
Most of us love pizza, but until you’ve eaten authentic pizza in Italy, you can’t fully appreciate how wonderful such a simple dish can really be. Arguably, you will find the best pizza in Naples, and almost any restaurant or food truck you visit will have something special to offer. Sample as many slices and you can handle and you will be in hot, delicious, food heaven. However, if you want to taste the day of them all, head to Sorbillo in Centro Storico. You may have to cue for an hour or more, but it will be totally worth it when you’re eating amazing organic pizza.
Be Amazed by Michelangelo
If you travel to Italy without visiting the Sistine Chapel, you will be depriving yourself of one of the most stunning works of art by one of the most talented artists of all time. The chapel’s ceiling, which was painted by the famed artist will take your breath away and make you marvel at its beauty even if you aren’t particularly religious.
Italy is stunning - see as much of it as you can.
