Whether you are an avid traveller, or are simply organising a get away to a new city that you have never visited before, chances are that a few different US states and cities are already featured on your travel bucket list. This isn’t all too surprising. After all, the USA spans an area of around 9.8 million kilometres squared and has a whole host of exciting sites and cultural history to go hand in hand with every inch of that land. But it’s important to determine exactly where you want to go and what you want to do on your travels. So, for the moment, let’s focus on Las Vegas. Otherwise known as Sin City or the Electric City, this resort city is renowned worldwide and draws in around 42 million visitors every single year. Here are a few reasons that you might want to join their ranks.
The Strip
The strip is perhaps Las Vegas’ biggest attraction. While it is only around 4.2 miles long, it is home to a whole host of casinos, hotels, and resort properties. If you’re looking for entertainment, this is where you are going to find it. There are plenty of amusement parks and rides around, including Big Shot, X Scream, SkyJump Las Vegas, Adventuredome, High Roller, and the Roller Coaster. Then there’s a huge array of shops, including the Bonanza Gift Shop, which claims title to “the World’s Largest Gift Shop”. That’s before we mention any lounges, showrooms, theatres, or nightclubs.
Sports
If you’re into sports, Vegas will prove to be the perfect destination to suit your needs and tastes. Just take a look at the wide array of events listed on VegasTickets.com. Upcoming events include:
Los Angeles Lakers
Las Vegas 51s
AMA Monster Energy Supercross
NBA Summer League
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)
UNLV Rebels
Helicopter
If you really fancy going all out, you could book a helicopter ride over Las Vegas. This will give you sprawling views across the city and out into the surrounding desert. Some trips will even take you over the Grand Canyon, which lies relatively nearby and truly is a site to behold. Just make sure to book through a reputable company with plenty of good reviews. If you’re going to take to the skies, you really do want to see the best of the best and get your money’s worth.
These are just a few different attractions that Vegas has to offer. There are, of course, plenty of other activities that you could engage with. Where possible, make sure to book things up well in advance of your trip. This will help you to avoid disappointment should places run out or events become sold out closer to the time.
