Australia has so many attractions to keep any tourist occupied. It’s not all too surprising that people often have difficulties picking and choosing what they actually want to fit into their schedule while they’re away. If you’ve found yourself in this predicament, here are a few things you can do!

Watching the Australian Open

Dubbed the Grand Slam of Asia / Pacific, the Australian Open is one of the major tennis events of the year and an absolute must if you are spending time in Melbourne. Based in Melbourne Park, the tournament will allow you to see some of the biggest names in tennis battle it out on the court. What’s more? Attending the matches in real life gives you such a better experience than watching from behind the screen at home - make a full day of it, with food, drinks, sun, and crowd energy!

Visiting the Great Barrier Reef

With over 25,000 kilometres of coastline, it’s not surprising that you’ll probably want to explore some of Australia’s beaches and waters. But, as we are all well aware, Australia’s coastline offers much more than would meet your average expectations. It’s home to one of the most admired natural wonders of the world! The Great Barrier Reef is perhaps Australia’s biggest and most notable natural attraction and for good reason. This complex reef system is the largest in the world and is home to seemingly endless species of coral, fish, turtles, and other forms of marine life. It’s also extremely accessible. Whether you decide to snorkel in the shallows or take a more complex and adventurous dive into the depths just beyond the reef, there will be some sort of day out in the area to suit your needs down to a tee. In fact, if you’re a weak swimmer or otherwise lack confidence in the water, you don’t even need to get in to have a brilliant experience. Glass bottom boats tour the area, or you could even take to the skies and look down on the reef from above!

Sunbathing at the Whitsunday Islands

While it’s always fun to instil a sense of adventure and action into your break, the majority of us want to come home at the end of our vacation feeling relaxed and recuperated. What's the best way to go about achieving this? Beach days. Just picture it. Lying back on a sun lounger, basking in the sun’s rays, a copy of your favourite novel in one hand and a cocktail in the other. Sounds perfect, doesn’t it? The good news? Along with stunning waters, the Whitsunday Islands also have an abundance of soft sand beaches. The most popular, which we’ll focus on, for now, is perhaps Whitehaven Beach. The sands here have an extremely high silica content, making them soft, powdery, and exactly what you want to step out onto when you’re searching for comfort and luxury. The area feels clean, and many visitors note that they can’t help but stop and take picture after picture of the astounding landscape. Just be careful during Stinger season, as you don’t want to end up getting stung by a jellyfish!

These are just three options from the hundreds that Australia holds. So consider them and see if they fit into your plans!
