We are Paul and Carole, a married couple who currently live in Gloucester, England. We started our travel blog Paul and Carole Love to Travel, so that we could share our travelling experiences, so that others can be inspired to travel too! We love exploring new places and get away as often as our full time jobs allow. We have travelled to 41 countries so far but there is still so much more of the world we would like to explore.

TPM: What kind of travelers are you?

P&C: We would describe ourselves as variable travellers, sometimes we cruise, house sit and enjoy adventures in our camper van. Our hotel stays depend on our budget at that time but we do enjoy a bit of luxury now and again, when the wallet will allow.

TPM: Why did you decide to start your “Paul and Carole Love to travel” blog?

P&C: We now have over 30 years of travel experience and the purpose of our travel blog was to share this knowledge and help others make informed decisions in planning their next trip.

TPM: While traveling often and maintaining your blog you both also have full-time jobs. Can you tell us what your jobs are and how you fit traveling the world into your schedule?

C: I am a Qualified Registered Nurse.

P: Self employed Car Dealer.

P&C: We utilise every bit of annual leave down to the hour and get away as much we can including weekends. Rarely is a day wasted, we are either planning the next holiday, working on the blog or actually away on holiday.

TPM: Where in the world is your favorite place to visit? Why?

P&C: Thailand the land of Smiles. We have been visiting Thailand now for 9 years and we still are discovering new places. The people, the food, the secluded beaches and the fun nightlife is why we keep returning.

TPM: What is the biggest sacrifice you have made for the sake of traveling?

P&C: Savings, the bank will never have to worry about counting our money as we spend it as soon as we get it! We are only here once so we want to make the most of it!

TPM: Have you had any scary moments while on your travels?

P&C: Stupidly in Thailand we decided to try and take a short cut around a headland but the tide came in a lot quicker than we anticipated and soon we were slipping and struggling over rocks to get to dry land. The sense of relief when we reached the beach was something we will never forget and we will never underestimate the power of the sea again.

TPM: Where is your next travel destination going to be? Why?

P&C: We are cruising to Norway. Cruising is one of our favourite ways to travel waking up somewhere new to explore really excites us. We have been twice to this stunning country but this time we are heading north right up to the Arctic Circle and seeking the Northern Lights.

TPM: How many states/countries have you visited?

P&C: 41 countries so far.

TPM: How has travel changed you?

P&C: It makes you appreciate life more, gives you an understanding of others struggles and has made us thankful for the life that we lead.

TPM: What advice would you give to someone who’s thinking about traveling, blogging while working full-time?

P&C: Do it but be realistic in your expectations. Do not underestimate the amount of time and effort needed for blogging and being active on social media. It is achievable but requires dedication and planning.
