Just over the Coronado Bridge from San Diego, California is a peaceful “island” (as the locals call it, though it is really a peninsula) called Coronado. Coronado is home to the Naval Base Coronado and the famous Hotel Del Coronado. People from all over visit Coronado to hang out at one of the top ranked beaches in the US, play with their dogs at one of the top off-leash dog beaches in San Diego, and of course try out various kinds of cuisine.
Coronado has plenty of restaurants to savor your appetite, from seafood, Italian, and burger joints. Now, when we say burger joints you’re probably thinking In-N-Out Burger, right? It is California after all... but you would actually be wrong; there’s not even an In-N-Out-Burger in Coronado. There is however a great burger place that is right up there with In-N-Out Burger that will make your taste buds scream with delight. This restaurant is called Burger Lounge, and is known for having the original grass-fed burger.

Burger lounge not only has grass-fed burgers, they have cage-free, organic, and gluten-free options as well. The “Classic” (which comes with 100% fresh, single-source, American grass-fed beef, organic American cheese, organic ketchup, mustard, pickles, chopped onion) is amazing. You can pair it with a 1/2 and 1/2 (half onion rings and half French fries), which serves two (maybe even three or four- they give you a lot).
There are so many other amazing options we’ll have to try next time or you can go there and test them out for yourselves. They also have awesome customer service at this location. Though, if you can’t make it to this particular Burger Lounge they have several locations throughout California and one in Las Vegas.
